DAVID & ANITA

DAVID SHARES;

When I lost my job, I lost myself. I felt like a failure as a husband and a father. Anita was the one carrying the family, paying bills, and every time I looked at her, I saw disappointment in her eyes. I sank into depression. I’d snap at her, then retreat into silence. The day she screamed, ‘I’m done! I want out!’—my heart broke. That night, I cried in my car, convinced my marriage was over.

But then, a friend dragged me to his men’s prayer group. For the first time in months, I spoke honestly about my shame. The men prayed with me, encouraged me, and reminded me that my worth wasn’t tied to a paycheck. It gave me hope again. I decided even if Anita left, I’d fight for her.”

ANITA SHARES;

I was exhausted. For three years, I felt like I was holding everything together with my bare hands. I grew resentful and bitter, and my words tore David down even further. When I threatened to leave, I thought it was the only way to breathe again.

But at a women’s retreat, God confronted me. I realized I’d been speaking death over my marriage, not life. I came home broken, but willing. That night, David and I sat down—no shouting, just tears. He told me he wouldn’t give up on us. And for the first time in a long while, I believed him.

We started rebuilding from scratch. Forgiveness, patience, daily choices. A year later, he found work again, but honestly, the job wasn’t the real miracle—our marriage was. Now, look at him, and instead of disappointment, I see my partner, my friend, my love.”
